LCN Co-Director elected to Academia Europaea: the Academy of Europe

LCN Co-Director Professor Anatoly Zayats (King’s College London) has been elected to join Academia Europaea (AE), the Pan-European Academy of Sciences, Humanities and Letters.

The AE was established in 1988 by European national academies at the initiative of the UK Department of Education and Science. It draws the members from leading experts from the humanities, law, the economic, social, and political sciences, mathematics, medicine, and all branches of natural and technological sciences. The aim of the Academy is to promote European research, advise governments and international organisations in scientific matters, and further interdisciplinary and international research.

Speaking of being elected to the AE, Zayats said, ‘It’s a great honour and recognition for a researcher. I am very grateful to all my colleagues and PhD students at King’s as well as my collaborators worldwide without whom this success would not be possible.’

Professor Zayats has been elected to the ‘Physics and Engineering Sciences’ section of the AE among other 18 scientists worldwide elected this year.
