2022 Blavatnik Awards for Young Scientists in the UK

LCN researcher Dr Kim Jelfs has been named a laureate in the 2022 Blavatnik Awards for Young Scientists in the UK, winning an unrestricted £100,000.

The Awards, conferred by the Blavatnik Family Foundation and the New York Academy of Sciences, come with the largest unrestricted prizes for young scientists and engineers in the UK under the age of 42.

Dr Jelf’s is cited for developing revolutionary computational approaches that enables the accelerated discovery of new materials. Her group’s software enables the prediction of not only the structure of materials before they are created, but also their unique properties and functions.
