I am Professor of Sustainable Manufacturing Systems in the Department of Engineering at King’s College London. I have extensive expertise in process engineering, manufacturing systems and control engineering, with the latter enabled by AI. I apply a holistic and multi-disciplinary approach to research with experience in leading interdisciplinary teams in both academia and industry in projects that require integration and coordination. I am PI/Co-I of a number of integrated industry-led research council projects of significant value in the areas of materials manufacturing and sustainability. Recently, on behalf of an industrial organisation I have delivered unique flow technology scaling the cultivation of biological cells from a few mL to several thousand litre using an optimised and economically viable process. I am also active in technology transfer to industry and have led the establishment of university spin outs. I am a graduate of Imperial College London and a Chartered Engineer.
