Ed Romans

Dr Roman’s research areas include i) Pulsed laser deposition of high temperature superconductor thin films and new oxide materials for nanoscale devices. ii) Superconducting Electronics – Josephson junctions, Superconducting quantum interference devices (SQUIDs) and their applications especially in biomagnetism, geophysics and fundamental metrology. iii) Quantum interference and frustration in multi-junction arrays – superconducting quantum interference filters (SQIFs). iv) Nano-scale SQUIDs for single photon and spin detection – applications in quantum communication and quantum computing.
