MANAGEMENT
Day-to-day management of the LCN is in the hands of three co-Directors, one from each partner institution. They are assisted by an Executive Board formed from senior scientists within the Centre.
The Directors are responsible to a joint oversight committee consisting of the Vice-Provosts/Vice Presidents for Research at the three institutions. The LCN is advised by an International Advisory Board, consisting of international experts in nanoscience and nanotechnology and jointly chaired by the Provosts/Principals of the three partners (or their deputies).
The UCL co-Director is responsible to the Dean of Mathematical and Physical Sciences for the running of the UCL research department.
Joint Executive Board
The LCN Executive Board is the strategic leadership team for the London Centre for Nanotechnology, bringing together representatives from UCL, Imperial College London, and King’s College London. Members include senior academics, centre managers, and departmental representatives from across the partner institutions. The Board meets regularly to align priorities, share institutional updates, and coordinate collaborative initiatives. Key areas of focus include research infrastructure, funding strategy, industry engagement, and governance which ensures that the LCN remains a world-leading, interdisciplinary centre for nanotechnology research and innovation.
