Dr Ivanov’s research is focused on the innovation of nanopore sensors and platforms for single-molecule detection and delivery, which enable the studying of fundamentally important molecules in chemistry, biology and medicine. Examples include tunnelling nanopore platform for high-resolution DNA fragment sizing and sequencing applications (Nano Lett 2011, 11), development of methods for high precision fabrication and positioning of nanoelectrodes in a nanopore (ACS Nano 2014, 8), optical/plasmonic nanopore platforms (Nano Lett 2013 13(10)); (Nano Lett 2015 15(1)); ACS Nano 2015, 9(2), integrated nanopipette microfluidic platforms Anal Chem 2013 86(1), Anal Chem 2014, 86(3), methods for on-demand delivery of single biological molecules (ACS Nano 2015, 9(4)) and single molecule detection from ultra-dilute samples using molecular traps (Nature Comm, 2016, 7) and recently detection of proteins linked to neurodegenerative diseases.
